*Our  virtual courses are self-paced.

*The courses are spanish spoken with english subtitles.

a) POLYESTER PLATE LITHOGRAPHY VIRTUAL COURSE

      (Level I: Direct drawing)

This course is an introduction to Polyester Plate Lithography, a method developed by George Roberts in the late 1990s. These innovative plates allow an straightforward and non toxic planographic process. During the course the participants will find all the necessary information for drawing, inking and printing polyester plates.  The method is also ideal for computer generated and photographic images (please see Polyester Plate Photolithography course - level II )

Videos:

Although prior experience in lithography is not necessary, some basic printmaking experience is recommended.

b) POLYESTER PLATE PHOTOLITHOGRAPHY VIRTUAL COURSE

    (Level II: Photographic images)

All participants must complete level I- Introduction to Lithography prior to level II- Photolithography

Polyester Plate Photolithography is one of the most advantageous processes for working with photographic images. The image is transferred directly to the plate without any UV exposure or harmful chemical treatment.

In this course we will focus on the creation of monochrome matrixes from photographic imaging, to reach a wider spectrum of the method’s possibilities.

The course emphasizes on how to edit the digital image in order to achieve a better printing of gray values. For the edition of the image, two possibilities will be developed:

     a) Step-by-step edition with Adobe Photoshop. No prior experience with this program is required.

    b) Step-by-step edition with a mobile application (an option if you do not have access to Adobe Photoshop).

*Frequently asked questions:

1) How do I get the supplies?

Polyester plate, being a cheap alternative to offset metal plates, have acquired a great distribution worldwide. In the course we will provide some suppliers websites to help the participant's acquisition of the materials.

2) What equipment do I need?
